Wow. I was looking back at some email blasts that I sent, and I realized that I released one of my favorite lovey dovey cds Warmfuzzy FIVE years AGO in 2005.

It was part one of a group of mixtapes called the All OUT KING (AOK) Series. This seems like a lifetime ago - before twitter, and my blogs and pre-HOV . So I can imagine some of you late comers may have missed the Mix.

Time to reflect.

What has happened in my life over the last two years is nothing short of incredible.

2010 is poised to be a boundary-pushing year for me–new horizons and new creative challenges. Above all: the start of the next chapter.

If in January of 2008 you told me that I would travel the world with Jay-Z, perform at the Olympics in Beijing and at President Obama’s Inaugural Ball with the Roc Boys, have bagels on Damien Hirst’s boat, represent the elements of hip-hop alongside Kanye and Coldplay, perform at MSG for the firefighters and police lost in 9/11–and now be featured in a global TV campaign for Adidas and Star Wars (with David Beckham and Snoop Dogg nonetheless)–I would have said, “yeah right.” Didn’t you know: I’m just a turntablist?

But that has all happened. Now in 2010 you will see me embark on a new chapter in my life: as a Global Spokesperson for Adidas.

I’ve gone from the three red stripes of the Blueprint 3 and onto the three white stripes of Adidas. From the premier face of hip-hop to the kicks that rep it best: my adidas.

For Jay’s upcoming tour, my familiar face will not be there behind the 1’s and 2’s. Hov will be “Armstrong-less,” but I’m sure that he and the Roc Boys will be more than alright. And who knows, maybe if my schedule and Mr. Carter’s coincide, and the stars align for the right reasons, you might see me at a stadium near you — once again throwing up that almighty diamond.

But for now , my seemingly impossible career, has led me to the brand that coined the term ‘Impossible Is Nothing’.

While the Roc Boys and Mr. Carter are poised to travel far and wide in the name of the music I love most, I’ll be on my own award tour repping for Adidas and rocking parties for you the people. And when I’m not on the road, I’ll be back in the lab, back in my creative space making new mixes and an array of other musical treasures. (**I know a lot of y’all new fans know me as Jay-Z’s tour DJ–but previous to that I was known for the “gourmet mixtapes” that I would drop every so often).

Now let the story begin with this … a project I have been working on for quite awhile which I was planning on dropping right before this next tour started…

I've been a bit busy finishing up touring with jay, and then had to head out to australia solo for a bit -

As you can imagine, that hasn't left me much time to do any recording.

Fellow 5th Platoon Famalam DJ Vinroc Recently put this dope mix of 80's n 90's basketball inspired Hip Hop to share with y'all, commemorating the Career of "The Human Highlight Film" Dominique Wilkins and the 20th Anniversary Release of the Reebok Pump.

THE LONDON INVASION... 

On Sept 27th I believe I happened to be out in London and took a quick trip to the radio station to visit a very old friend 

DJ Shortee Blitz.

I had just finished the Coldplay / Jay-Z  run  and was handling some extra biz in londontown, so he invited me to do a guest set which is available right here for y'all listening pleasure. 

It's definitely more Young HOVA centric, but as always, I try to put a bit of my own spin on it ;) pun intended ...

Crazy trivia tidbit . THE FIRST TIME I was ever on radio, was with DJ Shortee Blitz about 10 years ago IN london as well, when he was still at  the station out in brixton. So crazy what can happen in a few years .... From the bottom to the top...

I've been concentrating a lot on the my job as Jay-z's Tour DJ as of late, as we all know by now unless you live under a huge boulder, The ROC has dropped the BluePrint 3 and we've been on a touring tear to promote the album.

Now even though I ROC, It doesn't mean I'm made of stone ;)

A little while back I let leak this mixtape that I did for an industry friends wedding, and one of the songs he requested was Drake's Best I ever had. Here is the Snippet I leaked...

As it turns out, there was things put in motion to possibly do a DRAKE X NEIL ARMSTRONG Collabo at some point.

We sort of do similar things if you really think about it. He Makes music for girls . I make mixtapes for women . 



The Snippet was representative of what a collabo mixtape may have sounded like.

Right before the windstorm that my touring life has become - PEEP THIS upcoming week schedule -  

1) Madison Square Garden 9/11

2) Fly to Manchester UK England  to perform with Coldplay 

3) Fly BACK to NYC to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards 9/13

4) Fly to LA to perform on Jay Leno 9/14

5) FLY BACK to GLASCOW UK to perform again with Colplay. 

AND THAT IS JUST THE NEXT 5 DAYS ... 

Right before all of this, I had decided to "pop" out the Drake Remixes I created and turn them into "FULL" Songs - So that if you want to cuddle up with your Boo or have a QUIET STORM show you could add them to your sets. I called these the "Pretty Little Remix Series", and at some point there will be more to come. New Artists, mixed with stuff my more seasoned folk can appreciate.. 

I made 2 Versions - This Version mixed with Cupid for that super slowdown chillmode , and a version mixed withTotal's Kissing You - that you may actually want to play out at a club when its time to slow it down...

He sent this recording which I haven't heard in ages to me, from the time myself and Dj Daddy Dog were at a Basmentalism.com , one of the earlier super dope Internet radio shows, known for having good ass hip hop acts etc etc.

Based out in Denver Colorado of all places, the recording took place in 2002 or 2003... So long ago I was still doing turntablist stuff...

For me definitely a trip down memory lane. For y'all, another lost audio treat...

How HOW HOW TIME IS FLYING RIGHT BY....

Somehow summer has come and gone, so in honor of what is possibly 99% of the worlds most favorite season, I'm posting something that was recorded way back a season ago in May, on what most consider the beginning of summer - Neil Armstrong LIVE @ the Do Over in L.A.

What is the Do Over party you may ask??? We'll its one of the dopest running SUNDAY afternoon parties that C.A. ALL DAY has to offer... So much so that they got some props in the LA Times -

A fun time was had by all - Peep Out the behind the scenes video footage - with appearances by - DJ Rhettmatic, DJ Steve 1der, Frank Nitty of frank n dank,Dj Eleven, my homegirl Mary Blase, and all the fly folk at the DO Over.

Frank Nitty even gets on the mic and performs McNasty Filth - RIP DILLA...

Without a doubt, one of my most memorable events of 2009.

Here is a mix/ compilation I did last year for THEME MAGAZINE

I had gotten commissioned to do this mix ABOUT TRAVELLING maybe in January or February.

But then I got that fateful call... The one to join Jay-z's Roc boys as the DJ.

Not one to go back on my commitments, I actually finished this WHILE TRAVELLING ALL OVER THE US.

I did this by hooking up my mixer and protools at AIRPORTS, at HOTELS, and after doing soundcheck on the stages we were performing - Chicago, LA, New Orleans, Miami, New York, COnnecticut, Toronto ... etc etc etc....

I actually made the mix without turntables, and due to time constraints etc etc, it ended up turning more into a compilation by the time it was done...

Still, it was a good listen and appropriate for that particular time in my life...

THis was the write up we used in the magazine -

A big chunk of my life is spent on the road. For this column I thought about what occupied my mind in between getting from point A to point B. Everything from getting excited about the place I’m going, missing something I’m leaving behind, or looking forward to seeing something new. It’s more like a personal trip—in your headphones, by yourself in a car, or when you are out at the beach just chilling out reading a book. Some picks aren’t about physically traveling but emotionally and mentally escaping.

A little while back I sent this out on email, before my twitter days. It is a sample mix - that will probably become part of BitterSweeet part 2 . Maybe. The cd tends to make itself... I just put'em together.

I dont know if I'll ever finish this project, so here is a quick listen of what it might be.

 This is a live mix of me and my fellow 5th Platoon Member DJ Daddy Dog on Half Time Radio Back in 2006. I did an originals live set.... I can still get down... don't sleep.

 This short mix actually appeared 1st on Certified Majestic PART 1, a cd collabo with Steve 1ndr from killa Cali. Its a perfect little bit to put on your ipod for your bbq's and what not. Please, have a burger for me while I'm locked away makin something new for y'all to listen too!

 This is an oldy but extremely goody, that many of y'all may have never heard. A remix I did for A cornerstone tape I think 3 or 4 years ago now??? YEESH. A EARLY Collaboration between Mr. Carter and myself... that Jay probably never even heard himself. Jay-z meets Seals n Crofts meets summertime chillin neil armstrong style
